Akshay Kumar-starrer Samrat Prithviraj is struggling to stay afloat in the theatres. It is currently struggling to leave its mark in the box office collections. The period drama has failed to impress the audience. Samrat Prithviraj registered a sharp drop at the box office on Day 7, June 9. After a low-key opening with just Rs 10.70 crore, the film has managed to earn just Rs 55 crore till now, according to early estimates. There are also reports that the shows of the film are being cut down as most of the morning shows saw occupancy in single digits.
SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ DAY 7 BOX OFFICE COLLECTION
Samrat Prithviraj, written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, is based on the life and times of Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. It opened to mixed reviews in the theatres. The film witnessed a slow start on the first day, and recorded further drop ever since. As per early trade reports, Samrat Prithviraj didn’t manage to mint much money at the box office on Day 7, June 9. It’s single day earning was just Rs 2.75 crore reportedly. Hence, the total domestic box office collection would now stand at Rs 55 crore. Meanwhile, Samrat Prithviraj had an overall 10.14 per cent Hindi occupancy on Thursday, June 9.
On Day 6, June 8, Samrat Prithviraj had earned a total of Rs 52.25 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had written on Instagram, “#SamratPrithviraj continues to struggle… Biz at the national [multiplex] chains is dull… Eyes 55.5 cr [+/-] total in *Week 1*… Fri 10.70 cr, Sat 12.60 cr, Sun 16.10 cr, Mon 5 cr, Tue 4.25 cr, Wed 3.60 cr. Total: 52.25 cr. #India biz (sic).”
