Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s ‘Game Changer’ opened with Rs 51 crore, surpassing ‘Pushpa 2.’ Despite starting strong, it saw a decline in daily earnings, reaching Rs 112.76 crore in six days. The film faced criticism for allegedly inflated Day 1 box office figures, reporting Rs 186 crore globally.
Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s political drama ‘Game Changer’ had a massive opening of Rs 51 crore. On the day of its release, it outranked the collection made by the giant ‘Pushpa 2.’ Despite the movie leading in numbers as compared to other pan-India releases like ‘Fateh,’ the movie has seen a significant dip.
According to Sacnilk, the movie roughly collected Rs 6.61 crore (Rs.4.51 Cr in Telugu, Rs, 0.73 Cr in Tamil, and Rs.1.37 Cr) on day 6, compared to the business of Rs. Rs 10 crore (Rs 6.5 Cr in Telugu, Rs. 0.9 Cr in Tamil, Rs 2.55 Cr in Hindi, and Rs. 0.05 Cr in Kannada) on day 5. After five days, the movie was able to cross the hundred crore mark, and its total net India collection as of now stands at Rs 112.76 crore.
At the same time, the film has become the center of a controversy. Over the weekend, the creators of ‘Game Changer’ received criticism for allegedly inflating the movie’s Day 1 box office figures. Early box office projections indicated that the film earned approximately Rs 80.1 crore worldwide on its opening day. However, the movie’s official social media account reported an astonishing Rs 186 crore in global earnings, resulting in backlash and ridicule.
As far as the review is concerned, ETimes gave it a rating of 3 out of 5. Our review of the movie reads – “The highly anticipated film Game Changer, directed by Shankar and featuring Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, and Anjali alongside SJ Suryah and Srikanth in pivotal roles, is a political action drama that delves into the murky waters of corruption within the Indian political system. Shankar, renowned for his grand storytelling, makes his Telugu directorial debut with Game Changer. His signature style is evident in the film’s lavish production and narrative structure. The story, penned by Karthik Subbaraj, weaves together action, drama, and social commentary, though it occasionally leans heavily on familiar tropes.”
