Sanjay Dutt opens up about shooting ‘difficult’ climax for ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ while battling lung cancer

Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has stepped into the shoes of many characters over the years, but none come close to his “emotionless” character Adheera in ‘KGF: Chapter 2‘.

As he gears up for the release of the film, Dutt opened up about his experience shooting for the film while battling cancer. Speaking about his lung cancer diagnosis in 2020, he said that the team was very ‘accommodating’. After undergoing extensive treatment, the actor resumed work and was happy that the makers “did everything they could to make me comfortable,” he told Mid-Day.

He went on to reveal that the makers even offered him the option of shooting against a green screen, but as shooting the film ‘correctly’ was important to him, he went ahead with it. Dutt also noted that the difficult climax scene was mounted on a large scale with ‘mud, dust, fire and a lot of action’. Recalling his time on the set, the actor admitted that he couldn’t have done the shoot without the help of the film’s team.

Speaking about playing a heartless antagonist named Adheera, Dutt said, “He is menacing, but at the same time, humane [to some]. A lot of how Adheera has shaped up is from the energy that Yash and I brought to each scene. What a talent he is!”

He also stated that he has bounced back with renewed energy after his battle with cancer and gives due gredit to his fans saying, “I got by, thanks to my fans’ prayers.”
